What to Expect From Therapy

This page answers some common questions about starting the therapy process.  If you have a question that's not answered here, please contact us!

What can I expect from our first session?

Our first session is time for us to get to know one another and discuss what has brought you to therapy.

We will spend time discussing what has been happening recently, gather some background information, talk about your goals, and determine what we want our work together to look like.

Before your first appointment, you will need to complete intake paperwork and consent forms through a secure client portal. This includes information about policies, billing, and appointment procedures.

How long are therapy sessions?

Sessions can last between 45 and 60 minutes depending on the age and needs of the client.

How often will we meet?

We will start meeting on a weekly basis for the first few sessions to build rapport and our therapeutic relationship.  As we continue, we can reassess and discuss changing the frequency of sessions as needed.

What do I need to bring to therapy?

Just yourself! If you'd like to bring anything that will make you feel more comfortable and cozy during session, please do so!

How can I get started?

When you're ready, you request a 15-minute consultation or schedule an intake using our contact form.

A 15-minute consultation call is a quick phone call for us to connect and see if we might be a good fit!
